HER002 EAU DE PARFUM
//
[Hera]
A fragrant expression of HERA, the Goddess of Matrimony and Priestess of Proper Protocol.
In developing this fragrance, we took inspiration from the Cow-Eyed Goddess’s most sacred of domains - her powder room.
The fragrance is a nod to the classic, vintage and feminine chypre structure [it was hard not to fully give into]. However, it was equally important that this fragrance bring with it both palatial depth and atmospheric quality.
A deliberate tension ensues between two different eras of perfumery - a modern take on what is, at its core, a classic and traditionally feminine composition. Orderly, commanding and, of course, fit for a Queen.
The fragrance unfolds with a refined opening of bergamot, black pepper and a hint of coriander seed. The sparkling overture of spice gives way to the floral heart - rose, orris and violet, darkened and softened through a resinous veil of myrrh.
Beneath stands the vintage, timeless and solid structure of labdanum, benzoin, patchouli and vanilla, polished with ambroxan.

In brief // A fragrant expression of Hera the Goddess of Matrimony, women and childbirth. The Priestess of Proper Protocol. A contemporary interpretation of a classical chypre with rose and orris darkened by myrrh, labdanum and patchouli - modernised with ambrosian. A neo-chypre, if you will.
A note from us // It was [really] difficult not to fully lean into the classic chypre structure here. Our initial inspiration was unapologetic vintage fragrance from a bygone era. But, this is not HERA. She would seethe knowing we had honoured her with a fragrance that some would consider dated - and if you have read up on HERA [particularly those who have fallen victim to her wrath] you’ll know why we did not want to offend her. A neo-chypre seemed more appropriate and fitting for the Goddess whose reputation and image, come first. Polished rather powdered, sensuality over sweetness and atmospheric enough to command the attention of all.
